Trust isifatal.
Hong Kong, present day. A streetwise young man becomes a bodyguard to score quick cash. He soon befriends a disillusioned mercenary determined to begin a new life with the woman he just married. Although the two men find themselves working together to foil an assassination attempt, their partnership is short-lived: gradually, and through various uncontrollable circumstances, they will unknowingly be propelled toward the opposite sides of a deadly confrontation.

Amazing movie - 4 out of 5 (4/26/2002)
I cant believe i went so long without seeing this movie. I saw a scene or two of it late one night on tv and immediatly ordered the dvd. I was honestly surprised to find a movie that had amazing action but still had good character development. The movie is well paced and the action really dosnt come till the end of the movie. But once it starts it dosnt stop till the end.

This movie rules! - 4.5 out of 5 (1/16/2002)
This is one of the best action movies I have ever seen. Granted the story line is not fantastic, but it never is with action movies. Nevertheless, the camera angles and the action sequences are original (unlike most action films where they seem to do the same things that have been done a million times in other films). I definitely recommend this movie.

Best Tsui Hark film in years. - 4 out of 5 (8/17/2001)
I saw this film in a limited release in the theatre and was blown away. Great acting, and even better action. The DVD is almost as good as the theatre experience, except that the screen is much smaller. Nicholas Tse really shows off his acting abliity as well as his physical prowess. HK vet Anthony Wong is great (as always) but is relegated to background character. Great soundtrack as well. After the Van Damme debacle of past years, Tsui Hark has shown that he can still make a kick ass movie.
