Based on the gonzo writer, Hunter S. Thompson, novel of the same name, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas stars Johnny Depp, Benicio DelToro and a host of others, and tells the tale of one man's search for the American dream, except this one is literally "loaded", with drugs, booze and delusions.

Fear of losing the plot in Las Vegas! - 4 out of 5 (9/3/2000)
The production notes state that it took over 25 years to find a director capable of making the film "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" the film itshould have been.
Most reviews state that they should have waited a little bitlonger!

Terry Gilliam has always done

Las Vegas freak out - 3 out of 5 (2/3/2004)
It's the first release on DVD of this "not for everybody and we like it" kind of movie so it doesn't feature any commentary but does include a basic interview with the stars of the film. Sound was a bit interesting in that it only was in Dolby Surround, no 5.1. In a movie as visually weird as this imagine how weird the sound could be in Digital, but Gilliam probably made it in Surround. There's a new version out now and you're probably better off getting that since to quote the good doctor, "if

Awesome Movie! - 4 out of 5 (1/22/2004)
You've got to see this mind-blowing, jaw-dropping movie. By the time you've reached the end of it, you'll be thinking "Did I really just see this and what the heck exactly was that and I've got to show this to someone else."
