Breathtaking scenery offered in a way too long film.... - 3.5 out of 5 (4/4/1999)
Robert Redford sure knows how to direct movies. He has a unique eye for the camera, and knows how to use the camera to capture beautiful scenery. His latest film "The Horse Whisperer" is a terrific example. His filming of the Montana countryside is absoulely breathtaking. The story involving the healing of a young girl and her horse, who were both involved in a tragic accident in the opening of the film, is effective and involving. Wonderful !!! - 3.75 out of 5 (1/6/1999)
If you like movies, you must like this sublime epic. Redford may bee the only actor who really can direct a movie and not just shoot his best side. Don't be afraid by the lenght. Now, the DVD. Ok sound is great, image too. But how come Buena Vista doesn't use anamorphic widescreen. We lose a lot of quality, especially with movies like that. And I can't talk about extras, there ain't no extras, except for the trailer. They could at least give us cast&crew infos.
