Clive is back! - 4 out of 5 (12/20/2000)
I had just one thought running through my head the entire time I was watching "Clive Barker's Lord of Illusions" and that was why haven't we seen "Night Breed" on DVD as of yet.
I realize it's not proper to speak of another film in the process of reviewing the first. It's sort of like cheating but whereas "Lord Of Illusions" is a good horror film, "Night Breed" is a great one.
I say that "Lord Of Illusions" is a good horror film and not a great one, because there are parts in the film wher

A truly frightening horror classic! - 4.75 out of 5 (9/26/2002)
The other reviews say it all,so i should'nt bother repeating it all.
The film is without a doubt a masterpiece. Epic, amazing, disturbing, original & handled with style & class. One of the few modern(90s-present) horror film that is actually scary & made me jump out of my seat at certain areas, not to mention being unsettled, yet enthralled at the same time with the interesting plot.
Clive really knows how to make beautiful, unique & very original horror films..& this is a classic, right up t

Must have Horror DVD! - 5 out of 5 (12/10/2001)
One of my favorite horror flicks since The Exorcist. Great special effects, memorable characters, good twists and turns and some very disturbing scenes. Scott Baccula does an excellent job with his character. An average person who unwittingly gets involved way over his head! Proof that the answers to his questions were better left unknown. But, of course, he finds out too late and is plunged into the dark world of the "Lord of Illusions"
The story begins as an Illusionist's act gone awry. Or

A monster achievement in the horror genre - 4.5 out of 5 (5/8/1999)
This film goes beyond just horror, it shrouds itself with ever lovely film noir. My thirst for a horror film that matches the calliber of The Exorcist or Angel Heart has almost been quenched by my purchase of this film.
Along with a rather spectacular horror film, the transfer to DVD worked out wonderfully and the special features are more than satiating.
IF YOU LIKED: Angel Heart, Hellraiser
RE-WATCHABILITY: I can watch this one at least twice a month.
FINAL WORDS: Full of spook an
