Customer Review HITCHCOCK, THE RETURN - 4.25 out of 5  (1/4/1999) Nowadays, rare are the directors you can identify after a 5 minutes look at the movie they present. David Mamet is one of them. His last movie THE SPANISH PRISONER is the best he has directed since his debut in 1987. This time Mamet invites us to solve a mystery puzzle Alfred Hitchcock wouldn't have despised. And Mamet knows it. So he plays with us by presenting false clues which drive us crazy. The never ending twists kept you wondering up until the end. The video quality in widescreen was top-notch. Audio on the other hand was seriously lacking.
