A very good movie with respect to acting, plot, storytelling, locations, and so on. A story that shows the hypocrisy of a society towards the recently widowed wife of a family who had lived in the town for generations. The men scoff at her when their women folk are around, but their sinful desires are shown when the men are either alone or in the company of other men. Malena is a beautifully enchanting tale that was nominated for two Academy Awards and two Golden Globes (the later including Best Foreign Film). It stars Monica Bellucci, an Italian fashion model making her cinematic debut, and who is easily one of the most gorgeous women ever to appear on screen.

The movie tells the platonic love between 12 years old Renato that falls for beautiful Malena - the town most attractive woman. The
one who men admire and women envy and hate. It is told from his point of view and with the background of the last years of
Mussolini rule and the first years of WW2.
It runs between cruel gossip and people lies and the true that lies underneath
