It still has bite - 3.75 out of 5 (5/17/2001)
If you look up the word sequel in an English dictionary, chances are pretty
good you won't find it because to us, it is a dirty word. Personally, when I
hear the word uttered, it immediately decreases any desire I have to see a
movie, even in the cases where I haven't even seen the original to compare
it to.
This makes sense as far as JAWS 2 is concerned because I saw this film
before I saw the original. I was too young to see JAWS when it came out but
JAWS 2 struck in that period wher

Not as good as the first, but entertaining. - 4.25 out of 5 (6/26/2006)
It's been four years since the great white shark terrorized the small resort of Amity. Now, it's happening again: unsuspecting vacationers are beginning to disappear in an all-to-familiar fashion. Only one man, Police Chief Martin Brody, knows what's really going on, but the Mayor doesn't want to take him seriously.
The film, directed by Jeannot Szwarc (Enigma, Somewhere In Time, The Bug) while not as good as the first, is still not a bad sequel. There's not as much gore in this one

Solid sequel to summer movie classic. - 4 out of 5 (8/13/2002)
Another great white shark shows up in the surf at Amity, Long Island and only Chief Martin Brody seems willing to notice and do anything about it. Some fine acting by Roy Schieder, Lorraine Gary, and Murray Hamilton help elevate a rather routine shark movie. Watching the behind the scenes documentaries also lets you see what an excellent job the overly maligned Jeannot Szwarc did with this movie. Okay, so the movie is not a classic, but it remains a solidly made thriller and that is really al

One of my favorite movies - 4 out of 5 (7/10/2001)
I don't care what anyone says....Jaws 2 is a better movie than the first Jaws...For one the shark is more real and more people are involved...
the director is excellent and the music by John Williams is awesome and better than the first soundtrack...I don't understand why it is only Dolby Mono....they should have done it in Dolby Digital 5.1 for better sound but it's still okay to hear. Picture is clear and the DVD extras are great to watch!!!!
