Their plan was perfect...they weren't.
Avery is desperate: his sister has been kidnapped and ransomed for 2,000,000, and his father doesn't have the cash. So Avery and his buddies concoct a bold, semi-suicidal scheme: abduct retired mob boss Charlie Bartolucci, hide out in their uptight friend Ira's house while his folks are out of town, and force Bartolucci to use his contacts to find the girl. Amused by his fledgling captors, the seasoned mobster agrees to help them...but not before he cautions then that the guilty party might be right under their noses.

Suicide Kings (1998) - 3.875 out of 5 (11/10/1998)
The Movie:

Good to Watch, Not Worth Keeping - 3.25 out of 5 (10/17/2000)
This is one of those movies that are good to watch but not worth keeping. The cast are supposed to be a great one. However, the story is a bit ridiculous. The funny moments are pushed to the limit where it's no longer funny. It's either Johnny Galecki failed to fit into his character or the screenwriter failed to deliver good lines. Laura Harris as Elise, the so-called kidnapped girl, is also very weak in acting. The story is quite original though. All in all, rent this movie, don't buy. Unless

Dark comedy at its very best... - 3.25 out of 5 (3/17/2000)
I'm not usually a fan of independent films, but I loved this one. Its strength lies not in its plot, but in the casting. Dennis Leary in particular is great, even if he's merely
playing himself. Christopher Walken is a satisfying antagonist, and Jay Mohr is a good hero. There is a perfect blend of comedy.A very watchable movie.
Christopher Walken is an awesome actor. This movie is good because all of the actors kept pace with the moods and the ability of the other actors. In other words, one

Leary & Walken + good plot twists make for a good film - 4 out of 5 (1/6/2000)
If you're a fan of Denis Leary and/or Christopher Walken then you'll definetly find this a great movie. If you aren't a fan then I can safely say that you'll enjoy the film too. I don't have anything negative to say about the film because it's quite good. I'd have to really nit-pick to say anything bad about it. So I'm going to give it a 4.
Audio and video are decent (4).
The features are pretty good too (4). I especially like the alternate endings to the movie.
