He Buried Her Alive…To Save Her Soul!
Legendary Scare-master Vincent Price serves up a diabolical nightmare dripping with "brooding evil and sinister suspense" (Film Daily)! Based on Edgar Allen Poe's chilling tale about a family driven to savage bloodlust by a power beyond their wildest fears, this terrifying story of "murder, madness and necrophilia" (Cue) proves that there's no place like home... for horror! Convinced that his family's blood is tainted by generations of evil, Roderick Usher (Price) is hell-bent on destroying his sister Madeline's wedding. But when Madeline's fiancée arrives at the haunted castle to claim his lovely bride, he soon discovers that, for this family, their house is more than just a home... it's their TOMB!

When Vincent Price has appeared in most of Roger Corman's Horror films, whether Corman directed or just produced, they have often been of the comic nature. However, the Corman-directed FALL OF THE HOUSE OF USHER (1960) is an exception, featuring one of his best Horror performances ever. Though the film is not as good as the two giant, landmark Horror thrillers that came out that same year, Alfred Hitchcock's PSYCHO and Michael Powell's PEEPING TOM, this is still one of the more interesting

The Fall Of The House Usher and the rise of Roger Corman... - 5 out of 5 (10/6/2001)
At last Roger Corman's classic in its original 2.35:1 ratio and anamorphic. I had only seen this film once before and considered it a complete bore, watching it again in its correct ratio and I am completely smitten. Excellent film. Cool trailer and a superb commentary from the man himself!
