A groovy movie - 4.75 out of 5 (4/26/2001)
These days it's a real pain for a guy like me to go see a Disney film in the
Cineplex. I don't have kids so an afternoon showing is out of the question.
A midnight showing doesn't usually exist and I've run out of neighbor kids
to "baby-sit" at the theater. Thus I usually just end up waiting for the DVD
to come out.
However, in the case of THE EMPEROR'S NEW GROOVE, I couldn't wait for the
DVD, so I actually braved seeing the film at an afternoon showing on a

Disney needs to get up from where it is.
I mean what happened with their movies?, they began to go really up, with THE LITTLE MERMAID and kept up with BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, ALADDIN and THE LION KING.
Right now, they have come up with movies like DINOSAUR, most recently ATLANTIS: THE LOST EMPIRE and THE EMPEROR'S NEW GROOVE.
By all means they aren't bad movies, Disney at least has this advantage, their movies might not be superb, but they are never bad. But they need to get up and k
