Empire Review Chain chain chain - 3.75 out of 5  (5/21/2001) I recall when I first saw the trailer for CHAIN REACTION playing on MTV during its theatrical release. They were playing up the Keanu Reeves angle and making it seem like the hip action film that you had to see immediately. I went to see it that weekend and I was disappointed. The film had its fair share of action, but the basic plot seemed too complicated and required too much thought at the time.
