It's The Land Of Hospitality… Unless You Don't Belong.
From the director of The Long Riders comes this eye-widening, gut-wrenching tale of backwoods terror that "draws you into the eerily beautiful Louisiana bayou... then has you running for your life" (Pauline Kael, New Yorker)! Keith Carradine, Power Boothe and Peter Coyote lead a "first-rate ensemble" (Newsweek) in this "exciting, arresting and tautly told suspenser" (Variety)
When nine National Guardsmen enter the Louisiana swamp for routine training, they are unaware that just a handful of their ranks will make it out alive. Through an error in judgment, they incite an all-out war with some angry Cajuns who know the territory like the backs of their hands. Armed with a precious few bullets, and confused by the dimly lit, moss-covered maze into which they've stumbled, the innocent guardsmen know they'll be picked off one by one, until they come up with a solution using the only resources they have left... themselves.

This is what happens when you steal a Cajun's canoe. - 4.5 out of 5 (6/11/2001)
Much like the movie Predator, Southern Comfort is about a squad of soldiers being gradually picked off by an unseen and brutal enemy. However, instead of a alien beast from another world, the squad of Louisiana National Guardsmen have managed to irritate a band of Cajuns, who have decided that the only good guardsman is a dead guardsman. It all starts when the squad is "volunteered" for a routine mission in the bayou. After wading in the swamp for a few hours, they come across an impassable r

COMFORT ZONE! - 4.25 out of 5 (9/3/2001)
Yep, it is me from the UK again. This is the best release for this film yet. Universal released the DVD in this country, and what a disgrace that turned out to be, the picture was fullscreen and the cover artwort was awful. MGM have done a good job here, the picture is very good (1.85:1 anamorphic) and the sound although only Dolby Digital 2 Channel holds up rather well. The only extra is a trailer, but at this price I am not complaining. As for this being a copy of DELIVERANCE, I disagree
