Empire Review 102 reasons to buy the movie - 4.25 out of 5  (4/2/2001) In filming "102 Dalmatians" Disney apparently chose to focus on the most popular character in the original movie. The odd fact about this is that the most popular character was Cruella De Vil who came up in a recent poll as the most memorable movie villain. The original live-action "101 Dalmatians" starred Glenn Close as Cruella and it also starred Jeff Daniels and Joely Richardson.
