In their hands,ia deck of cards was theionly thing more dangerous thania gun.
Maverick is rollicking proof of how the West was fun. A riverboat poker tourney promises a winner-take-all $500,000... and Bret Maverick aims to be the winner who does the taking! But first he must cope with the hangman's noose, a runaway stage, a wily Indian chief, outlaws, ingrates, a bagful of rattlesnakes and more close calls than a long-tailed cat in a roomful of rocking chairs.

Fun movie, Lethal Weapon with a western side - 4 out of 5 (10/30/1998)
This is one very original and fun movie to watch. Mel Gibson is perfect for the role, and Jodie Foster is hot as shit in this movie! If you love country music, there is special appearances by Clint Black, Hal Ketchum, and a couple more I can't think of. Black's music is also in the movie. Good video and good audio. Absolutely recommended

A wonderful parody! - 3.5 out of 5 (10/12/1998)
The cast is what makes this film so much fun to
watch. They are obviously having funa nd it
translates into a good time for the viewer.
The audio (being only dolby stereo surround,
the same as it was in theaters) is adequate,
though a dolby 5.1 remix would have been nice.
