Check it out again! - 3.75 out of 5 (5/1/2001)
It's the old adage of the chicken or the egg. In this case it would be the
campaign against the movie. Did PRIMARY COLORS hurt or help the Clinton
campaign or did the Clinton campaign hurt or help the movie?
Actually I'm not concerned about it either way, as I tend to avoid
political movies like the plague. They bore me and I really don't want to
know the truth about the men that are running my government. I know its not
the safest way to be, but I sleep better at night.

Slow, very slow - 3.5 out of 5 (4/29/1999)
I like political movies, but this one is way too slow. Even though it is well written, and I understand all the political comedy, I still think this movie will bore a lot of people.
Crisp video, OK audio, and only a trailor for features.
Rent first.

John Travolta is the main reason this film is so great. His performance is flawless, and touching in a strange way. Also fantastic is newcomer Adrian Lester, as a campaign manager who becomes fascinated

Quite disappointing... - 3.5 out of 5 (11/28/1998)
This will be brief as to limit the number of folks
I offend. This movie was weak, and a waste of good acting
potential. Emma Thompson was shallow, while Travolta got
lost in his forced accent. And Kathy Bates ... what the
heck happened to her? I just figured it out though. She
must have just then received the advance script for The
Waterboy and she mixed up the characters. Go see the film ...
it's the same character.
Sorry, I liked the book, but this adaptation blew it.
