Charming and bittersweet, this modern-day romantic comedy starring Uma Thurman, Janeane Garofalo and Ben Chaplin explores the beguiling perils of mistaken identity.
Abby (Garofalo), a savvy, witty veterinarian who hosts her own radio talk show, is anything but confident when it comes to love. A petite brunette, she describes herself as tall and blonde when Brian (Chaplin), a caller who is smitten with her radio persona, asks her on a date. She then talks her tall, blonde neighbor Noelle (Thurman) into assuming her identity, setting off an escalating series of hilarious and romantic crises.

A great little film! - 4.25 out of 5 (4/2/2001)
It's been something of a banner week for me here. I just got a chance towatch two of my favorite movies of all time back to back. The first movie Iwatched was "The Truth About Cats & Dogs" and I have to say that this is themovie that made me fall in love with Janeane Garafalo.
Janeane plays Radio Talk show host Abby Barnes, a veterinarian who relatesmore towards animals, than towards people. Her insecurities stem from thefact that she is not the picture perfect image of what a man wants in a

Enjoyable light-hearted entertainment - 3 out of 5 (12/8/2003)
Ok, if you can put aside the fact that Janeane Garofalo is not really unattractive and Uma Thurman's Noelle is actually too close to being the "perfect girl" to get passed over for ANYONE, you can get some great laughs and fine performances (including the animals!) from this sweet romantic comedy. The ending may be a little too pat, but it's well worth the ride.

Light hearted comedy - 2.25 out of 5 (1/11/2002)
I saw this movie in the cinema and enjoyed it but have to say the video transfer of this DVD ruined my enjoyment completely. Almost every shot looks hazy/out of focus/blurred hence I cannot recommend this DVD. If you have a projection set it's absolutely awful but may look ok on a tube tv. This DVD seems to be another in a line of poor quality DVD's been released from Fox...other movies with awful transfers include The War of The Roses and White Men Can't Jump. Fox spends lees money and effort o
