"Gummo Is Alive In A Way That Few Films Are." -Matt Zoller Seitz, New York Press
From Harmony Korine, screenwriter of the critically acclaimed Kids, comes a haunting portrait of life in small-town America. Through a collection of dreamlike and devastating images, Korine offers a glimpse of Xenia, Ohio, a world existing in the aftermath of a tornado. Survivors of one natural disaster, the town's inhabitants live each day in a numbing atmosphere of physical and emotional destruction. With an ensemble cast including Max Perlich (Beautiful Girls, Drugstore Cowboy) and Academy Award Nominated Chloe Sevigny (Boys Don't Cry), Harmony Korine has created an American original. Gummo cannot be forgotten.

Gummo Life - 3.5 out of 5 (8/15/2002)
This movie is a way of life. White trailerpark trash people living a life way common in most states. You need an open mind and about an hour and a half. This movie is really a great piece of work. Not all the actors are even worth shitting on, but still try and look through that.....pressman

SAVE YOUR MONEY - 2.25 out of 5 (8/5/2002)
Gummo is a pathetic attempt to look into the life of redneck small town America. Somewhere at the opening credits the plot must have been lost. Cause I never really saw it. The only thing I found mildly amusing about this was the kid in the bunny ears. It was so darn stupid you couldn't help but laugh. There is nothing more entertaining about this movie. However, if you are one of the rednecks that this movie portrays; then it might be a really good movie to relate to and know how others view yo

one of the greatest films ever - 3.75 out of 5 (2/18/2002)
This film breaks almost all the rules of film and still succeeds in being one of the most entertaining films I have ever seen. This film is like actually seeing all those wives tales you heard about when you were a kid. Like kids hunting cats and selling them to grocery stores who in turn sell the cats to Chineese restaraunts. The images in this film will stick with you forever and if you open your mind I am sure you will see the beauty of this film. Those who are tired of movies like Pearl
