True Americana! Spike Lee has distinguished himself by not being afraid to push the boundaries. The mark of a really good director is one who tries his hand at all genres. Think of Stanley Kubrick. Spike uses all of the deepest fears of Black (and all) American men to bring us his version of Tales from the Crypt. Fear of Voodoo, Funeral Homes & the dead, Satan, Wife Beaters and Racists all come into play. We get to see 4 scary storis told by mortician to the kids. Tales are good but not best.They do last after 20 minutes or so... Features are enough for this film......
