Where Nightmares And Reality Meet. On The Streets.
One of the best horror films of the decade. Welcome to the hood of horrors--a place where it's hard to tell nightmares from reality.
Stack, Ball and Bulldog arrive at a local funeral parlor to retrieve a lost drug stash held by the mortician Mr. Simms. But Mr. Simms has other plans for the boys. He leads them on a tour of his establishment, introducing them to his corpses. Even the dead has tales to tell, and Mr. Simms is willing to tell them all. And you'd better listen--because when you're in his 'hod, even everyday life can lead to extraordinary terror.

Excellent film - 4.5 out of 5 (1/16/2006)
Spike Lee touches reality through dry humor and shocking the senses. Several valuable messages are delivered challenging both adults and adolescents. A must-own!

A Spike -Joint Horror Fest!! - 4.25 out of 5 (6/26/2002)
This movie rocks! True Americana! Spike Lee has distinguished himself by not being afraid to push the boundaries. The mark of a really good director is one who tries his hand at all genres. Think of Stanley Kubrick. Spike uses all of the deepest fears of Black (and all) American men to bring us his version of Tales from the Crypt. Fear of Voodoo, Funeral Homes & the dead, Satan, Wife Beaters and Racists all come into play. He's trying to tell you something about society and ourselves subc

So so Horror movie... - 3.5 out of 5 (5/29/1999)
Four teens go to mortuary and a mortician invites
them in to tell them his absurd stories.
We get to see 4 scary storis told by mortician to
the kids.
Tales are good but not best. They do last after 20
minutes or so...
Features are enough for this film......
Horro fans should RENT it...
