Adored by critics and audiences nationwide, Almost Famous has been hailed as "the year's single most entertaining film!" (Roger Ebert, Ebert & Roeper and the Movies). Writer/Director Cameron Crowe takes you on a heartfelt journey into the world of rock and roll in this "delightful coming-of-age comedy" (David Ansen, Newsweek). It's the opportunity of a lifetime when teenage reporter William Miller lands an assignment from Rolling Stone magazine. Despite the objections of his protective mother, William hits the road with an up-and-coming rock band and finds there's a lot more to write home about than the music.
This "enormously engaging" (Jeffrey Lyons, WNBC) film boasts superb performances by Golden Globe winner Kate Hudson, Frances McDormand, Billy Crudup, Philip Seymour Hoffman and newcomer Patrick Fugit. Featuring a classic rock soundtrack with music from The Who and Elton John, Almost Famous is "an utter delight from the first frame to fade out" (Lou Lumenick, New York Post) and a must-see for every generation.

Almost Perfect! - 4.75 out of 5 (3/10/2001)
Once upon a time in America, not so long ago in fact, our music defined a generation. It taught us, moved us and gave us all a common bond with each other. Of course, that was in the days when it didn't matter if the members of the band were the hottest hunks in the neighborhood or wannabe Playboy models. No, back then, the only requirement was that you be an artist, a poet and have the goal of reaching people, rather than counting your latest paycheck.
It was the world that director Camer

One of the best DTS tracks ever! - 4 out of 5 (4/22/2001)
That's right this film rocks (no pun intended), and so does it's DTS track. Only fitting I suppose. The features are pretty well too, considering this is the standard edition of the film. With a two disc special coming out at the end of the year, with a director's cut, and commentary. This still, ain't that bad.

Almost Perfect! - 4.5 out of 5 (3/27/2001)
I thought the movie was excellent, for people who love music...but for others it might remain above average.
Still it did the trick for me - I thought Kate Hudson and Patrick Fugit were very good and the lads in the band (epecially Jason Lee looked and acted pretty beleivable)
Cameron Crowe has opted to leave alot of the nasty edge out of it to produce a real feel good film. I recommend it highly!!!
