Synopsis

Hitch classic at bargain price - 3 out of 5  (5/19/1999)
This little known title hails from Hitchcock's British period, when he was establishing his feet as a director. This movie forms part of a British quintet of titles which concluded his British stint and saw him moving over to Selznick in the States. What we have here is a not too clever transfer onto DVD (infact not much better than the video transfer) with only average sound. It really comes over warts and all. Hitchcock fans like myself who are delighting in the increased availability of his titles on DVD will no doubt want to check out this low priced entry from Madacy. Sabatoge is a fairly simply movie that's simply well made and directed. Hitchcock shows in this early British pic that the label "Master of Suspense" he would one day earned was well rooted. Hitch is not only a master of suspense, but of black and white photography as well, playing with shadow and light to creepy effect. The video   more >>
