Night of the Living Dead is his masterpiece (although I eagery await the arrival of Martin on DVD). Good movies entertain you for the duration and leave you warm and fuzzy. Great movies go beyond and make you think. NOTLD is a great movie under this definition. Think about when this was released: 1968. Two assassinations, Vietnam and declining race relations were the stories of the day. The zombies, brought to life from radiation released from a government space probe, are feasting on the flesh of the living.
