Grease may be the word, but not the disc - 3.5 out of 5 (2/14/2003)
For millions of people, GREASE is still the word.
The musical was performed for the first time on the stage at the
Kingston Mines Theater in Chicago on February 5, 1971. Writers Jim Jacobs
and Warren Casey were in the original background ensemble while future star
Marilu Henner performed the role of Marty.
Now over, thirty years later, the musical has played venues all over the
world and it's cast alumni includes such names as Rosie O'Donnell, Cameron

GREASE IS FOREVER THE WORD - 3.25 out of 5 (11/10/2002)
Today, I went out to the local video store and purchased GREASE on DVD at a very low price and yours truly is now delighted to own this long awaited film on DVD.
I was delighted and disappointed by the films release on DVD. First off, this film is just a rehash of the 1998 VHS release which was the disappointment. ....
Despite the disappointments, there are many delightful things to say about the DVD release. I love the packaging. This film is available in Widescreen (2.35:1) and Full Scre

Wait for the Special Edition!! - 3.5 out of 5 (9/25/2002)
The director has said in a interview that a SE will be released in 2004,which will include commentary(s) & other extra's.
So if you don't want to end up re-purchasing the film..it'd be best to just wait for that release. This dvd is the same as the 1998 20th Anniversay vhs & laserdisc release...so if you have those..theirs nothing new here....unless you haven't seen the film in widescreen.Then by all means...get this dvd.It looks amazing in widescreen.
