One of the geatest movies ever made becomes the Best DVD ever produced! - 5 out of 5 (11/11/2002)
Every so often a studio will release a DVD that raises the bar so to speak for all the DVDs to follow. With the release of the Extended version of The Fellowship Of The Ring special edition DVD New Line has not only raised the bar, they have launched it into orbit! I know that is a fairly bold statement, but I have viewed somewhere around one thousand DVDs in the past few years and honestly, this new version of The Fellowship is the best I have seen.
You will notice the quality and prod

The true definition of a "Movie"! - 5 out of 5 (1/11/2005)

Best in its genre - 5 out of 5 (1/9/2004)
The extended edition is the only edition to consider in this series. Given the complexities of the book, the movie is a grand achievement in bringing literature to the silver screen. As a diehard fan of the Tolkien books, it was difficult to even venture into the theatre, let alone witness this film. Yet, in its own right, it is exceptional accomplishment. I'm glad I experienced it.
