It's 1963. Meet theiWanderers. They were theihottest guysiin town!
Tully High School seniors Richie, Joey, and Perry run with a gang called the Wanderers in the Bronx. The time is fall 1963 but their experiences are universal: falling in love, surviving in school and defending turf against rivals like the Fordham Baldies, the Del Bombers and the Ducky Boys. From the acclaimed first novel by Richard Price (Bloodbrothers, Sea of Love), The Wanderers is a rich fabric of comedy and tragedy, fantasy and farce. Director Phillip Kaufman (The Right Stuff) mixes dynamic talents- including Ken Wahl, Karen Allen and Linda Manz- and a golden oldies soundtrack to generate a heady atmosphere. Like American Graffiti and Saturday Night Fever, The Wanderers is a window on a vanished world. Enjoy the view.

At last - 4 out of 5 (9/9/2002)
At last indeed, I've been waiting for this for years. I got a region 2 copy of this film a couple of years ago, but sent it back, the quality was appalling, this on the other hand is top notch, the video transfer is excellent for the year, the sound although mono, is acceptable, but you have to buy this one just because it's "The Wanderers" and remember "Don't *** with the Baldies"
