Toho brings back Godzilla proudly - 4.25 out of 5 (11/27/2001)
Upon purchasing this DVD I was really dissapointed with the front cover. The Japanese cover was much superior to this "ready to rumble" nonsense, also lacking as always with Columbia Tri Star Godzilla DVD's is the extras.
All you get is a behind the scenes preview with sadly no english translation of the Godzilla 2000 movie, the trailer's to Roland Emerich's Godzilla, the trailer for Godzilla 2000 and the trailer fo Anaconda.
Michael Schlesinger's commentary is by far one of the best audio

Ain't nuthin like the real thing? No sir! - 1.75 out of 5 (7/23/2001)
This is indeed the American release. Dubbed voices for everyone INCLUDING the star; GODZILLA!
There is a wonderful soundtrack by ** ** that is replaced with not so Godzilla sounding music. The sound effrects are reworked and all the monster roars are as fake as the english dubbing.
There are almost twenty minutes of film missing from the original Japanese cut. And all of it to do with ignoring the previous Tri Star release. Gee!
I would not recomend this DVD to any Kaiju Fan.

The DVD itself is well-made. The image quality is great. I don't care for the animation for menu selections. It's neat but gets old. I do wish the original Japanese version was on this DVD. The language choices are English and French only.
When I see what TriSt
