A TIME TO KILL = I'm still in suspense - 4.25 out of 5 (12/2/1998)
A Time To Kill seeks to take on very difficult
subject matters--racism, rape and retaliation all in
one movie. This movie affirms the fact that justice
is not a fixed idea, but very illusive, especially to those
who have been dealt an unjust hand.
For those of you who have Dobly Digital 5.1 decoding
and surround sound speakers -- expect a treat from
the opening scene sequence. "Something" that I will
not describe here will startle you if you are willing
turn the volume to 5-6 on

Great film, but not as good as Primal Fear IMO - 3.5 out of 5 (11/25/1998)
Having previously watched this film on VHS I knew the film was going to be a gripping, top notch court case film. The film obviously hasn't changed so I was looking forward the the features more than anything else.
The video is amazing, with well defined motion and fluidity all manufactured in great 2.35:1 widescreen. The audio is consistent with this too, and all sounds are easily defined and speech is clear. The stereo is effective but audio doesn't score too highly on films of this type
