From the Oscar-winning screenwriter of The Usual Suspects, this wickedly off-beat mix of crime, comedy and gunplay stars Ryan Phillippe and Benicio Del Toro.
Convinced they'll score big money fast by kidnapping a young surrogate mother (Juliette Lewis) carrying the child of a wealthy Southwestern couple, the two small-caliber crooks soon run into major problems. Realizing too late that they're in over their heads, the kidnappers fight to keep their plan from unraveling amid a rising tide of bloodshed, mind games and greed.

Way to go Way - 4.25 out of 5 (4/16/2001)
The WAY OF THE GUN is a tough one. In saying this I am referring to the
style of living and not the film. The film is also tough but it carries a
sharp satirical tone that is much deeper than the actions of the film
suggest.
This is part of the magic of Christopher McQuarrie. He writes an action
film that can be viewed on two different levels. You have the action itself
in which two good for nothing gunmen decide the best way to get rich is to
kidnap the surrogate mother of a ruthless

"There's Always Free Cheese in a Mouse Trap...." - 5 out of 5 (4/25/2001)
Of all the movies released this year, Christopher McQuarrie's The Way of the Gun is the one film of the year that I will instantly dub "The Best Film of the Year that Nobody Saw." Why this film slipped past audience's fingers is a mystery to me. It had an appealing cast, an attention-grabbing plot, and was the directorial debut of the man responsible for the brilliant screenplay of one of the greatest movies of the 90s, The Usual Suspects. One could easily assume that this was inspired by Quenti

Better Than I Thought - 3.25 out of 5 (4/25/2001)
I was so impressed by this movie. I actually bought it based on the reviews I have read about it. I think Benicio is always bad-ass, but was worried about Ryan's abilities. The story was great, nothing was made easy for our "heroes," and the action was awesome. You really feel bad for the more prominent characters, that's how involved you get. Great movie, good script.

This movie rocks - 4.25 out of 5 (3/9/2001)
If you have a good sense of humor over the failings of mortals in this not-even-close-to-perfect world, this film is for you...
