"Sensationally entertaining…a suave, knowing picture." -New York Magazine
In this riveting behind-the-scenes look at big business in the 1980's, an ambitious young stockbroker (Charlie Sheen) is lured into the illegal, lucrative world of corporate espionage when he is seduced by the power, status and financial wizardry of Wall Street legend Gordon Gekko (Michael Douglas in his Oscar winning performance). But he soon discovers that the pursuit of overnight riches comes at a price that's too high to pay. Daryl Hannah and Martin Sheen co-star in Oliver Stone's gripping morality tale about the American dream gone wrong.

Take me back to Wall Street - 4.25 out of 5 (11/6/2000)
How much is enough?
It's an age old riddle that never seems to have an answer. It also the riddle that is at the heart of "Wall Street." Bud Fox (Charlie Sheen) asks this question of his mentor Gordon Gekko (Michael Douglas) at one point in the film and he seems surprised that Gordon doesn't have an answer. What seems more surprising is that Bud had to even ask the question.
Bud is a small time stock seller working for Jackson Steinham. His goal is to someday land the big fish account that

Nitpicking WALL STREET - 3.5 out of 5 (11/1/2001)
The DVD transfer of WALL STREET is disappointing, to say the least, and actually is not that much of an improvement over my decade old laserdisc copy. Also, the widescreen matting seems to be a bit off: the full screen videotape and laserdisc give you much more picture information at the top and bottom than this DVD. Like Anchor Bay's SUPERGIRL DVD, I think that WALL STREET was overcropped, especially on the bottom [the effect of Martin Sheen counting the money that Charlie gives him on repay

Greed is GOOD! - 4.5 out of 5 (1/25/2001)
Fine tale of an ambitious young stock broker who wants to hit the big time. What he fails to realize is that the price for success is his soul. Great performance by Michael Douglas as Gordon Gekko with a great supporting cast. A nostalgic reminder of the "Yuppie" excesses of the Reagen era. Martin and Charlie Sheen, Darryl Hannah, and Hal Holbrook are perfect foils for Michael Douglas' performance as a "greenmailer" with an attitude. The writing, editing, and directing are superb.
