A Fortress At The Edge Of Darkness. An Enemy Within That Only One Man Can Conquer!
Christopher Lambert (Mortal Kombat, Highlander) stars in this futuristic update of the classic poem written in 900 AD and set in a world of supernatural evil and inexplicable danger!
Torn from a legend whose roots are buried in the mists of time, Beowulf is half man - half god. Living in a techno-futile world of the future, a medieval land where technology's secrets are locked away in a mute past, Beowulf fights his way through a besieging army and into a mysterious ominous castle on the edge of nowhere to face and evil within...a beastly spawn of man and demon named Grendel. Now he must fight to the death -- in order to quell the raging violence hidden deep in his own bedeviled soul!

One of the better B movies out there. Impressed me much. The soundtrack kicked butt. Fusing that soundtrack and the movie was fun. I loved it. Probably buy the movie soon. (on dvd obviously)

Worst film ever! - 2 out of 5 (10/25/2000)
This is definitely the crappiest film I've ever seen. It was so bad I wouldn't even call it a movie, just a rip-off. Seems like it was made in one day with bunch of amateurs. The cast is poor, screenplay and dialogue ridiculous and the music is absolutely horrible! Avoid this at all costs.

could have been excellent, but..... - 3 out of 5 (10/22/2000)
there were two things that originally attracted me to this film: I love the old medieval poem that this film is based on, and I fancy Rhona Mitra rotten. Between these two things, there could surely only be a good film to see.As it stands it's very mediocre. The script's quite good (apart from some cheesy dialogue here and there), but typical Dimension films underbudgeting shows through as usual. The direction is very luclustre, and the lighting and camerawork profoundly unimaginitive. It felt l
