"Heavy Metal 2000" is an adult cartoon created by Kevin Eastman who also co-created the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as a valentine to his wife: B movie goddess: Julie Strain.

Sweet movie - 3 out of 5 (1/12/2002)
I saw Heavy Metal 2000 on HBO, so i didn't get the dvd features, but Heavy Metal 2000 was an awesome movie! It had lots of action, and gore. They could have let off on the sexuality a little tho. Some nudity and sex is great, but just a little overkill. The best part of the movie was the sondtrack. With songs from System of a Down, Coal Chamber, Puya, and more Heavy Metal 2000 definetly lives up to it's name.

Worth a look, but the original is superior. - 4.25 out of 5 (11/1/2000)
I saw the original Heavy Metal when I was about 10 years old. I begged my father to take me when it hit theaters in the early eighties. I was desperate to buy it for home viewing for years. Finally DVD came to the rescue. When I heard about this sequel, I was hopeful. I do agree that this is an animated film of quality (the dogfighting spacecraft are excellent) but true fans of the original may be dissapointed.
