Perhaps the greatest war movie of all time - 5 out of 5 (8/14/2001)
Gettysburg will perhaps always be known as one of the best Civil War movies, if not THE best movie of all time. With an all star cast consisting of Sam Elliot (Brig. Gen. John Buford), Jeff Daniels (Col. Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain), Kevin Conway (Sgt. "Buster" Kilrain), Tom Berenger (Lt. Gen. James Longstreet), and Martin Sheen (Gen. Robert E. Lee), Gettysburg is sure to please history buffs and casual viewers alike.

Best made-for-TV movie ever? - 4.25 out of 5 (5/23/2005)
This is historical filmmaking at the very best. The story (it's hard coming up with the appropriate superlative, but take my word for it, if you're not familiar with the events of those three days, it's an amazing story) is true to the actual events, the acting is highly competent and convincing.
