From the director of Mission: Impossible comes the thrilling, eye-popping science-fiction adventure Mission To Mars -- starring Gary Sinise (Snake Eyes) and Tim Robbins (Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me). The year is 2020, and the first manned mission to Mars, commanded by Luke Graham (Don Cheadle, Out Of Sight), lands safely on the red planet. But the Martian landscape harbors a bizarre and shocking secret that leads to a mysterious disaster so catastrophic, it decimates the crew. Haunted by a cryptic last message from Graham, NASA launches the Mars Recovery Mission to investigate and bring back survivors -- if there are any. Confronted with nearly insurmountable dangers, but propelled by deep friendship, the team finally lands on Mars and makes a discovery so amazing, it takes your breath away. Mission To Mars is an action-packed rocket ride that will enthrall you with its stunning special effects and keep you on the edge of your seat.

It's a shame the movie sux! - 3.5 out of 5 (9/11/2000)
"Mission to Mars" is a mission to miss! This film combines a mishmash of other superior sci-fi plots with horrible dialogue and not so great acting. The directing by Brian De Palma is decent but do we really need a long tracking shot of the goings on a5t a picnic? where the shots really cut too quick and run to short where they really count!
Where is that? Oh yeah, It's on Mars! Check the title!
I realize that I might be pissing off some fans who really enjoyed the movie with this view, bu

It sucks - 2.5 out of 5 (12/16/2000)
This may be the worst SciFi movie I have ever seen. A true candidate for Mystery Science Theater 3000. It had the potential to be one of the best movies ever made but throught the wonders of poor editing and a bad script, it stank up the screen.

Awesome cast, but the script, OH MY GOD !! - 3.75 out of 5 (12/4/2000)
If you think that Robbins, Sinise and De Palma will guarantee an excelent movie, this time you are wrong. The script is very poor and the story travels through a road with many pits. The best of this movie are the special effects. Yeah, they are awesome !! The music: I'm still thinking if Morricones music fits in this movie or not. It's very strange to watch a science fiction film with music like "The Mission" behind. But in some point it is quite interesting.
