A Grand and original epic! - 5 out of 5 (7/27/2000)
I got a cold flash of memory when I was watching "Titus" the other day. The memory that struck me was of being a child and hearing those stupid jokes that children love. Jokes such as: What do you get when you cross a monkey with a giraffe?
The reason that I bring this up is the entire passion of "Titus" hinges on a similar riddle: What do you get when you cross the words of William Shakespeare and the theatrical styling of Bob Fosse?
This I can answer!

Monumental...by every aspect... - 5 out of 5 (12/15/2001)
If you arre in the least bit cerebrally inclined, this film will capture your full attention.
There is no aspect of this movie that fails to deliver "in spades". This film is a delight
for all of your senses. It is a 10 on a scale of 5, on all counts.

And this was passed over by the Academy Awards for what reasons? - 5 out of 5 (11/11/2001)
I saw this film in the theatre six times, which is a record for me. I vowed to own it on DVD, and now that I do it is the prized film in my collection! ( and the equally under exposed "Requeim for a Dream", which runs a close second.) "Titus" on DVD is a glory to behold! This edition is picture perfect, the colors are true and the sound is spectacular! The special features are great, lots of behind the scenes footage, interviews with the actors and ongoing commentary by Julie Taymor...this disk
