Not another one - 3.5 out of 5 (11/21/1998)
How many more novels of basically the same stories are going to be put out. Always the underdog law student working out what the best lawyers in the world can't work out. However this story is a little better than most Grisham novels turned movies like The Chamber because of Denzel Washington. His portrayal of the determined investigative reporter is one of the only redeeming features in this movie. The transfer is good but.

Average movie, book was much better - 3 out of 5 (8/12/1998)
I'm not a John Grisham fan by any means, I happened to be at the airport and needed a book so picked it up. The book actually wasnt that bad, so when I saw the movie I decided to buy it.
I was watching it with a friend however and found him asking alot of questions because the movie tended to jump from place to place without any background build up of events. In the book, Khamal was a very scary guy, in the movie he was almost a joke.
