"HOOO-AHH!" - 4 out of 5 (4/25/1999)
I am so grateful to this date that Al Pacino won his first Academy Award for his wonderful, wonderful work here. I don't think that any other actor could've pulled this performance off the way that Mr. Pacino did. It's just a shame, though, that the film didn't win for best screenplay, or Best Film, since it was my pick for Best Pic of 1992. It's simply a wonderful piece of storytelling, of a bond between two very different men who go on an interesting journey. The journey turns out to be one of

SCENT OF A WOMAN won Al Pacino the Oscar and catapulted Chris O'Donnell into roles
like Robin in the Batman series. The DVD version of this film is outstanding. However, don't
expect any special features. It's as bare as VHS tape. Universal Studios will get hip to the
fact that DVD collectors want more than what is offered on tape. The audio is pro-logic

Firstly, we have a wonderful italian film directed in 1974 by dino Risi : PROFUMO DI DONNA. Then we have an actor who likes to play difficult roles and is very popular nowadays. At the end, we find Hollywood producers with the money to invest on a project.
Result : SCENT OF A WOMAN with Al Pacino.
SCENT OF A WOMAN is the archetype of the movie built around the leading actor. The scenes without Al Pacino are terribly empty and ridiculous ; it reminded me of the worst moments of DEAD POET'S
