Outstanding - 3.25 out of 5 (7/1/2002)
I agree that one should not use the word blasphemy unless they know how to spell it, and obviously what it means since this film isn't that at all. It may not follow the gospel word-for-word, but it covers areas of the gospel often ignored by other films too. This film also speculates on Jesus as a HUMAN BEING, which he was despite what some may wish to believe. Amazing! - 5 out of 5 (9/22/2001)
This TV mini series is brilliant. Not only does it show Jesus as being happy and joyous but it doesn't hold back any punches (the crucifixion scene is quite graphic). All in all probably the best adaptaion of the Christ story as it avoids the usual 'reverance' filmmaking that makes Christ so inaccessable, and brings us an approachable Jesus, one who can speak to todays generation.
