Tom Selleck stars as Jack Ramsay, a sergeant in the Runaway Squad - a security force dedicated to the termination of defective or "Runaway" robots. Ramsay and his assistant Thompson (Cynthia Rhodes) are called in when two electronic engineers meet violent deaths. They discover a link between the murders and the development of a terrifying new weapon by an evil mastermind. Ramsay and Thompson are attacked by murderous robots as they close in on the brilliant and insane electronics genius behind it all, Charles Luther (Gene Simmons). Then the deadly chase begins in this taut, high-tech thriller.

Runaway, don't Walkaway! - 3.75 out of 5 (8/21/2000)
Michael Crichton has given us some of our biggest and best science fiction films. He is the man responsible for both "Jurassic Parks" and a third yet to come. He also gave us "Congo" and he was the man responsible for "Sphere" (Although he also denies that!) Crichton is also the man responsible for giving us the doctor drama "E.R" every week.
Yet, even the best have to start somewhere. "Runaway" is one of his earlier efforts and though the story is written with the heart in the right place,
