After a young boy witnesses his parents' murder on the streets of Gotham City, he grows up to become the Batman, a mysterious figure in the eyes of Gotham's citizens, who takes crime-fighting into his own hands. He first emerges out of the shadows when the Joker appears -- a horribly disfigured individual who is out for revenge on his former employer and generally likes to have a good time, but the identity of the `bat' is unknown. Perhaps millionaire Bruce Wayne and photographer Vicki Vale have a good chance of finding out?

Good movie, but weak on features. - 3 out of 5 (4/4/2005)
This is considered by most the best of all the Batman films. While I loved it when I was younger, I look at it now as a good film, but not a great film. It had its flaws and this was this was definitely Tim Burton's version of the legendary Caped Crusader, but it was a good story with good actors.
Considering the huge phenomenon that was caused by the release of this movie, it's a surprise that this DVD didn't contain more extra features; you have a choice of fullscreen or wides

The greatest Batman film - 4.75 out of 5 (4/19/2004)
The '89 version of Batman is the best adaptation of the Batman character. Along with Michael Keaton as Batman, Jack Nicholson made an extremely believable Joker, and will forever cement his name as the star of this picture.
