"A wild descent into absurdity -ia barrage of hilarity!" -L.A. Herald-Examiner
A "wickedly funny" (Cue) comedy about the value of life and death, this "hysterical" (Variety) slapstick farce will leave you dying from laughter! Burt Reynolds (Boogie Nights) gets help ending it all from an all-star cast featuring Dom DeLuise, Sally Field, Joanne Woodward, Myrna Loy, Carl Reiner and Kristy McNichol.
Sonny (Reynolds) is a freewheeling bachelor who will do anything to avoid physical pain! So when he suddenly is diagnosed with a fatal -- and painful -- disease, he guzzles down a bottle of sleeping pills in an effort to end it all! But his plan not only fails, it lands Sonny in the loony bin beside a demented schizophrenic named Marlon (DeLuise) who is more than eager to help him fulfill his mission! And as each outrageous attempt backfires in a more hysterical way than the last, Sonny realizes that life -- no matter how brief -- is definitely worth living. But tell that to Marlon, who's hell-bent on seeing Sonny's suicide plans -- through to The End!

This is the end my friend - 2.5 out of 5 (2/12/2001)
It's hard to start out a review about a film called "The End" because
everybody assumes the review is finished and stops reading. Okay, it's a
shameless ploy and I know that most people stop reading my reviews after the
first paragraph anyways. Still those of you who do finish them can consider
this only the beginning of my thoughts on the film called "the End."
What a difference a few years makes! When I was seven, this film was
considered the height of hilarity. It was a regular stapl
