"A Comic Wallop ofia Movie!" -Peter Travers, ROLLING STONE
Based on the true story, Jim Carrey stunningly portrays the late Andy Kaufman -- considered to be one of the most innovative, eccentric and enigmatic comics of his time -- in Man On The Moon. "Jim Carrey is extraordinary." says The New York Post. "Jim Carrey may be a better Andy Kaufman than Andy Kaufman" writes Newsweek. Also starring Danny DeVito as Kaufman's manager, Courtney Love as the woman Andy falls in love with and Paul Giamatti as his best friend. You'll stand up and cheer for Carrey in one of the year's most entertaining movies!

Man on the moon - 4 out of 5 (8/17/2000)
I just finished watching the "Man on the Moon" and I think I feel that, while it is a good film, it might take itself a little too seriously. Ironic, that that is my feeling about Andy Kaufman in the first place.
Director's Milos Forman's follow-up to "People vs Larry Flynt", this is also a film that is presented from a historical perspective which is taken from several different periods from Andy's life. Unlike, that very same movie, at no time does it ever present us with a reason to ever t

Carrey even better than the real thing! - 3 out of 5 (8/7/2000)
An amazing performance by Carrey (where was his Oscar-nomination?) who's better and more human than the real Andy Kaufman ever was. Even in Holland, where we know Kaufman only from his appearance on TAXI, the 'master of biographies', Milos Forman knows how to rivet the viewers by portraying this extravagant and trendsetting man with great love and respect: One of the most extraordinary bio-pics ever made!

"I would like to thank you for................coming to my movie" - 4.75 out of 5 (7/5/2000)
Man on the Moon is as of now Jim Carrey's least successful movie, scoring even lower than The Cable Guy's numbers. Nevertheless, I find to be Carrey's most marvelous performance to date, following his brilliant tour de force in The Truman Show, making this the second consecutive film where he failed to recieve oscar recognition.
Carrey doesn't play the role of Andy Kaufman, he IS Andy Kaufman. Prior to seeing this movie, I rented and viewed some actual footage of the actual Kaufman. When I w

One of the most boring movies I have ever seen. - 1 out of 5 (7/5/2000)
Jim Carrey did a good job, but the problem is they picked the wrong person to do a movie about. The man was an idiot all the way around and the film shows that and you get tired of watching the stupidity.
