A grand horror tale! - 4.5 out of 5 (5/23/2000)
Sleepy Hollow is a horror film that seems to be ahead of its time. It can be considered ahead of the rest of the class and also a film that sticks it's neck out in it's classic retelling of a legend.
Less, a retelling of the legend, than a total reworking, Sleepy Hollow takes the bare bones of the story and gives it a modern, yet antique twist. I know you probably find it hard to believe, but those last two were not intentional.

i was hoping that someone would create a horror movie in the same style as the old hammer films. this is it ! atmosphere, the colors( black, white, gray, and red), the sets, the acting, all of the above...oh, of course, the headless horseman that does nothing but kill...and the greatest importance to me is he cannot die. i love that ! tim burton, your the greatest ! bless you !!!
