Synopsis
They rob from theirich…and just keep it.

Long before Butch and Sundance or Bonnie and Clyde, there was Will Plunkett and James Macleane -- a pair of notorious and irreverent highwayman who terrorized English aristocracy in the mid 1700's. Reuniting the stars of the hit movie Trainspotting, Plunkett (Robert Carlyle) and Macleane (Johnny Lee Miller) combine forces to steal from the rich using Plunkett's street sense and Macleane's society connections. But their partnership as highwaymen hits a bump in the road when Macleane falls in love with one of their victims -- a beautiful and rebellious young aristocrat named Rebecca (Liv Tyler). With the law closing in, Plunkett and Macleane find they must choose between robbery and romance.

Trainspotting meets robin hood! - 3.5 out of 5  (8/15/2000)
Robin Hood meets Trainspotting! "Plunkett & Macleane" is probably best described as "Robin Hood" meets "Trainspotting." The biggest difference between these two highwaymen is that they took from the rich and gave nothing to anybody else.
The film is a largely fictional account based on the lives of the two highwaymen who robbed England in the mid 1700's. The film stars Robert Carlyle as Plunkett and Jonny Lee Miller as Macleane. Liv Tyler joins the cast as Lady Rebecca Gibson. The stor   more >>
Customer Review
Well, there isn't much to it but Liv, oh Liv. - 3.25 out of 5  (7/23/2000)
Miller is a good actor i'll give him that, better shown in Transpotting and hackers, but liv is a cutie. The movie is semi funny and has some good moments. Not a bad film, more of a light/friendly action comedy that will amuse you for a little while. But if you are like me and like Liv, then you'll watch it over and over.   more >>
