They couldn't like each other less or need each other more.
"One of the year's hottest surprises" (Rex Reed), this "feel-good drama" (San Francisco Chronicle) from writer/director Joel Shumacher (A Time To Kill) combines the acting talents of two-time Oscar winner Robert DeNiro (Analyze This) and Philip Seymour Hoffman (The Talented Mr. Ripley)! Flawless lives up to its name with a story line that's full of compassion, tolerance and most of all..."heart" (San Francisco Chronicle)!
Walter Koontz (DeNiro) -- once a hero cop, now a security guard -- lives in a rundown Hell's kitchen tenement. One fateful night, after hearing the cries of a neighbor in trouble, his attempt to help turns into a nightmare when he suffers a stroke. Paralyzed on his right side and unable to speak clearly, Koontz, on the advice of his doctor, seeks voice lessons. But with winter holding him hostage to his apartment, he has no choice but to seek help from a musically inclined neighbor whom he vehemently dislikes...an outspoken guy named Rusty (Hoffman)!

flawless is a movie you doesn't expect to like but for a strange reason you will - 3.5 out of 5 (5/6/2000)
Flawless is a movie with an average story but saved by the great interaction between Seymour Hofman as "Rusty the Drag-Queen" and Robert De Niro portraying police veteran "Walter Koontz".
Although the story isn't that great, the movie got a certain flow and mood that will certainly apall De Niro fans.
Shoemaker directing for once put the characters central. The election of miss Drag Queen and the police plot aren't that important. It's Walter Koontz recovery after a hart stroke and the str
