Synopsis
Evil Loves To Party

One night in the house, one million bucks, no questions asked. But there is a catch for anyone who accepts the offer. Murder is a way of life at the House on Haunted Hill, a jolting, effects-ramped remake of the 1959 cult classic that starred Vincent Price and was directed by screen horror legend William Castle. Geoffrey Rush plays twisted theme park bigshot Steven Price, who's hosting a scary/jokey birthday bash for his wife (Famke Janssen) at an abandoned institutue for the criminally insane. Taye Diggs, Ali Larter, Bridgette Wilson, Peter Gallagher and Chris Kattan portray strangers mysteriously assembled for the event that could make them all very rich. Or profoundly dead. And you? We won't start the party without you.

Empire Review
A fitting remake! - 4.25 out of 5  (4/18/2000)
It really sucks having a last name in common with a character in a film. I went to see "House on Haunted Hill" with several friends and they spent the entire movie laughing at me because I might be related to Chris Kattan. Never mind that they missed a pretty good horror film! The film borrows the title and basic concept from the original 1958 film of the same name. Geoffrey Rush steals the Vincent Price role from the original and the fee is updated, but little else is the sa   more >>

House On Haunted Hill gets 2 stars ou of five. The movie is dumb, dissapointing, and stupid. The features are good, the audio is good, the vedio is below normal.   more >>
