"A role-reversal comedy [with]ia talented comic cast!" - Blockbuster Entertainment Guide
Funnyman Michael Keaton (Beetlejuice) teams with Tootsie's Teri Garr in this "fresh and funny audience pleaser" (Boxoffice) that's all housework...and no pay! Jack and Caroline Butler (Keaton and Garr) are perfectly happy with their roles in life...until a layoff makes him a househusband and her a working wife! And while she wrangles with charts, graphs and an all-to-eager-to-be-wrangled boss, he has to contend with their hyper kids, a ravenous vacuum cleaner, an angry washing machine and an oversexed neighbor (Ann Jillian of TV's "It's A Living")! From late nights in the boardroom to lonely nights in the bedroom, the biggest challenge for both Jack and Caroline is learning to trust one another with their reversed roles...which they'd better do quickly...before Mr. Mom becomes Mr. Single Mom!

"Mr. Mom" was one of those films. Keaton was best at playing the blue-collar smart-ass guy who was always out of his element. In this film he plays Jack Butler. Jack is a well-paid engineer at a local car manufacturer. His life is perfectly normal, he has a wife to take care of his t

Why Bother! - 2.75 out of 5 (4/25/2000)
I love this movie, BUT it is not in widescreen format and the bonus material stinks! (What bonus material!?!)
When are the studios going to wake up and realize that the DVD format is for movie buffs, people who want to see the entire picture and get a bunch of bonus stuff.
And I'm sick of studios releasing a movie on DVD and then turning around and releasing a "Collector's Edition" four months later! (Entrapment, Bad Boys, etc.)
Thanks for letting me vent!
