To keep a lid on the scandal, Brice's loyal aide (Will Patton), creates the perfect cover-up: he "invents" a more enticing killer -- a Russian spy -- and then enlists naval commander Tom Farrell (Costner) to find him. But as a chilling twist of fate would have it, Farrell also has a strong commection to the victim...and now all the clues he's been hired to uncover are leading straight to him! In a desperate race against time, Farrell's search for the killer is not only a matter of national security, but also a matter of saving his own hide.

A great thriller! no-so great a disc - 3.5 out of 5 (4/25/2000)
"No Way Out" is one of those rare thrillers that shocks and amazes you in the way it is put together. I rank it with those films that demand absolute silence about the shock ending. These kinds of films are the toughest to review because they need to stop short of giving the entire picture.
The film begins as Tom Farrell (Kevin Costner) spies Susan Atwell (Sean Young) at a party being given in celebration of Senator David Brice (Gene Hackman.) There is an instant attraction between the two.
