"A perfect thriller" -Tom Gliatto, PEOPLE
Oscar nominees Terence Stamp (Billy Budd), Lesley Ann Warren (Victor/Victoria) and Peter Fonda (Ulee's Gold) team up with the director of Out of Sight and Sex, lies, and videotape for this critically acclaimed thriller that Newsday called "a lean and mean treat for savvy action lovers."
British ex-con Wilson (Terence Stamp) arrives in Los Angeles to investigate the mystery of his daughter's "accidental" death. His prime suspect, the wealthy, heavily guarded music promoter Terry Valentine (Peter Fonda), is no easy target. Propelled into an increasingly brutal search for truth, Wilson, with single-mindedness and terrifying precision, moves unstoppably toward revenge.

Before his back-to-back success with ERIN BROCKOVICH and TRAFFIC, Steven Soderberg gave us THE LIMEY, his underrated 1999 film that pitted an ex-con (terence Stamp) against a sleazy old and played-out music manager (Peter Fonda) was released. So vivid in its portrayal of a man seeking out the truth about his daughter's death and the revenge he wants to reap over it, memories of John Boorman's 1967 classic POINT BLANK kept resurfacing.
Though it is not a remake of that film, it is among the m

Slow, and not for everyone, but very interesting - 4.75 out of 5 (9/3/2000)
It probably helps that I am British, so I like the lead character, Wilson. But the film seems to make you like it, by using very good camera angles, and slightly time lapsed footage, of what he is thinking before he does it. This makes the experiance much more personal. Story line is good, and solid. Very individual.

A DVD almost beyond compare… - 4.75 out of 5 (3/21/2000)
There is so much on this DVD that I will limit myself to commenting on only the best parts- all of it.
First, the film itself: this is one thick movie. Even with only clocking in at about an hour and a half, it feels longer because of what I feel is the strongly focused and sharpened characters created here by the actors, director Steven Soderbergh, and yes (despite his complaints) the writer. The Limey isn't one of the most original films ever made, but it has an original cast and is made
