It blows up then fizzles! - 4 out of 5 (8/21/2000)
"Supernova" was an apt title for the film if ever I heard one. The film started off big in the box-office and then it fizzled to near nothing. I was one of the many who saw the film in the first week and I have to admit that I had no desire to see it again on DVD. It's not that the film was bad, it's just that it wasn't that good!
So after watching it on DVD, I still stand firm on my earlier stance. I had hoed that the extra footage would help clear up some of the missing story. I also hoped

SUPER-SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - 2.5 out of 5 (2/23/2002)
If you're looking for a movie that's actually worse than BATTLEFIELD EARTH, and I don't know why you would, this would be your movie. Personally I think any movie that James Spader gets top billing in is gonna suck, I mean, let's just go all out and get Mark Hamill or something. Also starring is CAN'T HARDLY WAIT's Peter Facinelli, whoopdie-doo. This film is bad, really bad. I just can't say enough. Please don't waste your time.

A lesson in how not to make a film - 3 out of 5 (12/5/2001)
There was once a time when movies had to have a story in order to be made. Hollywood sought out some of the finest authors to pen the scripts they used. Now, a movie can be made just because the special effects department wants to play with new technology, with their new toys. Supernova is such a film. It is a vehicle for special effects and little else. Even in this department the film falls a bit short. Made during the McCann hearings the film was paired down from the original 'R' to a 'PG-13

Am I the only one who likes this movie? - 4.25 out of 5 (11/14/2000)
As the one-line summary says, I'm one of the very few who liked this movie. So since nobody cares, let me just review the DVD. :)
The DVD has almost reference quality audio and video quality. The 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer looks amazing and the Dolby Digital 5.1 sound rocked my sound system. The extras include thirteen deleted scenes presented in 2.35:1 non-anamorphic widescreen and Dolby Digital 2.0 stereo. The scenes add nothing really to the movie, but are intresting to watch if
