It's supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!
High above the dawn clouds over London, "practically perfect" Mary Poppins floats out of the sky and into the lives of two playfully mischeivious children. With the help of a carefree chimney sweep named Bert, the spirited nanny makes every chore a game and every day a "jolly holiday." But, after they leap into a imaginative world of a sidewalk chalk drawing, visit a hilarious floating tea party, and join a rooftop song and dance, it may take more than "A Spoonful Of Sugar" to cheer up the children's precise and disapproving father!

An enjoyable film and home theather as well - 3.25 out of 5 (12/30/1998)
I remember watching the movie as a 7 year old child and the songs have always stayed in my memory ever since. Thirty years later and my 4 year old daughter is now enjoying this movie (she has watched it over 15 times already!). The picture and sound quality are very good. Julie Andrew's voice is fantastic. The cartoon sequence is captivating. The windows rattle when the cannon fires!
It is however disapointing when I see the VHS version coming out with extra footage that could easily have mad

Practically perfect! - 3 out of 5 (10/12/1998)
The picture and (in particular) the sound on Mary
Poppins are excellent. As one of my favorite
live action Disney films, I was anxious to see
it on DVD. And I'm glad I got the disc as I
love this film.
The only drawback is that a classic such as this
was delivered without any extras at all.

No Features- Disney/Buena Vista does it again! - 3 out of 5 (7/30/1998)
Why is it that this company is constantly offering less on their DVD's then they offer on VHS? The recently remastered VHS of Mary Poppins includes a wonderful 15 minute "making of" special feature with Dick Van Dyke and the Sherman brothers. The DVD offers nothing extra. Why is this company so confused that they act like DVD buyers are less discerning then VHS buyers? This beautiful widescreen experience is tarnished by the company's stinginess.
