Hapkido, an ancient Korean art of self-defense, translated literally means "the way of coordinated power." Through the scientific use of the body in proper form and technique Hapkido allows students to become stronger, better coordinated and to have greater confidence.
Students will learn basic kicking, blocking, punching and self-defense techniques along with the basic philosophy of the Martial Arts. This includes the importance of flexibility and strong mental discipline, not only in martial arts but also in everyday life. Most importantly students learn respect for their parents, teacher, elders, and the rights of their fellow students and other human beings.
Hapkido ultimately aims to develop the character of the student. The practice of Hapkido demands hard work and training, but is also an enjoyable and rewarding experience. The rewards from this training include self-confidence, patience, physical fitness, mental alertness, leadership, and respect.
